Nicole Tabone is an international artist, born and raised in Malta. Her work is grounded in a personal journey shaped by resilience, ambition, and a long-standing search for belonging. Having often struggled to fit into conventional environments, art became her primary form of expression and communication.
Working full time as an architect intensified her need for creative freedom. While architecture provided structure and discipline, art offered release and reflection. Through this process, creative practice became therapeutic, allowing her to capture and hold onto a sense of emotional freedom that continues to define her work today.
Today, Nicole is known for building her career independently, outside traditional artistic structures, guided by audience engagement and demand. Her work resonates with a global audience by transforming personal experience into a lasting and universal visual language.
- The Technique-
Nicole’s painting practice is rooted in the sensation of deep sleep, that suspended state where dreams unfold and separate scenes dissolve into one another. Her compositions emerge as fluid, shifting environments in which memory, emotion, and imagination collide and merge.
Working intuitively, she uses dripping paint and layered brushwork to heighten a sense of drama and emotional charge.
